Tom Miller is a 37 year fire service veteran. He is Pro-Board certified as a Firefighter II, Haz Mat Technician, Haz Mat IC, Fire Instructor III, and has been an Instructor with West Virginia University Fire Service Extension since 1990. Tom is a Principal on the NFPA 470 Haz Mat/WMD Technical Committee and Chairs the NVFC's Haz Mat Response Committee and its Pandemic Task Group. He has written numerous courses on specialized topics related to emergency response and has been published in Firehouse and Fire Engineering magazines. Tom has served as an SME with various national organizations including COVID-TAC, FEMA/DHS, API, PHMSA, DOT, DOD, NSC, and NFPA. Tom has a Bachelor of Science degree from West Virginia State University and a Master of Arts degree from the School of Education and Professional Studies at Marshall University.
