The workshop will discuss the roles of fire departments during atypical (non-suppression/non-rescue) events. Scenarios covered in the workshop will include active shooter scenarios, points of distribution (POD) (medical & logistical), vulnerable population evacuation (nursing home, hospital, school, senior living, etc) and support for emergency management activities. Scenarios discussed will be from rural and volunteer department perspectives.
