Lemmon Fire Department Chief Chad Baumgarten brings 30+ years of firefighting experience and countless hours of training and education to the NVFC Symposium in Rapid City, SD. Chad has been Chief of the Lemmon Fire Department for 20 years and has served in multiple roles within the department. He’s served on a Type II Incident Management Team for 5 years in Logistics. Chad is certified to the ICT 4 level through NWCG and is a certified instructor in South Dakota. He has commanded the fire scene on hundreds of incidents, ranging from a simple .5 acre grass fire, to multiple vehicle collisions, to the 16,000 + acre Windy Fire that will be discussed today. Chad is married to his wife, Celena, and has three children. His son, Preston, is an assistant Engine Captain with the BLM. His daughters, Lyndse and Brandi, are in business with their mother, and have given Chad and Celena three grandchildren, with two more on the way.
