Wildfires: From Mountain Peaks to Plains

This event is an opportunity to participate in valuable classroom training and share ideas and best practices with wildland firefighters and other stakeholders from across the Plains region. Attendees have their choice of breakout sessions to attend, with sessions addressing key topics in wildland fire mitigation and response. The event also features keynote speakers, general sessions, networking events, and a vendor expo.

The conference is open to all wildland volunteer firefighters, department leadership, other fire department personnel, and those interested in learning more about community wildfire mitigation.

Event Highlights: Networking Opportunities

The NVFC Regional Wildland Symposium is an excellent opportunity to connect with peers and thought leaders from across the Plains region and the United States. In addition to in-session connections, the Symposium includes the following special events:


Networking Expo

Enjoy an evening networking social with vendor expo on Friday, March 17 – a chance to relax and connect with your colleagues. The social includes refreshments and a vendor expo. Families are welcome! The event will be held at the Journey Museum and Learning Center - museum admission is included!

Mount Rushmore Excursion

Join other attendees for an optional add-on excursion to see Mount Rushmore on Saturday, March 18. Attendees will depart from the conference hotel on a charter bus, with approximately two hours at the monument to explore on your own.
