Fighting WUI fire in volunteer/combination setting and environment increases risk for all. Community members, responders, and other stakeholders. This workshop will provide participants some of the challenges of responding to the WUI and how to change that paradigm for a more effective response.  Community assets and unseen partners, training standards for all, and WUI watchouts. Participants will learn/be provided:

1- a review WUI incidents that have caused catastrophic loss and how to use those to increase community support

2- tools to increase effectiveness on the WUI IA fireground (training ideas and standards), internet tools for IA for increased situational awareness

3- a redefined meaning of LCES for the IA responder: L (level of experience), C (credentials and communication matter), E (equipment; what you bring to the response sets you for success), and S (staffing; volunteer, combination, cadets)
