Kent Swarts is currently the Deputy Fire Chief and PIO with the Rehoboth Beach (DE) Volunteer Fire Company, a combination 3 station fire department with over 5,000 calls for service per year. Kent has served on the departments’ Membership Committee for the past 5 years and has been instrumental in the recruitment and retention efforts of the company. A former business owner, Kent also worked in the public safety technology field for several years and worked as a 911 communications center supervisor in Pinellas County Florida and as an EMT and EMT instructor in the Buffalo, NY area. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from SUNY College at Buffalo and is a life member of the Williamsville (NY) Fire Department where he served as a Captain.
