Patrick R. Montague is an investigator with the NIOSH Fire Fighter Fatality Investigation and Prevention Program. He retired after 26 years in the Jefferson County, KY, fire service, during which time he was promoted through the ranks. He retired as a battalion chief leading both fire and EMS professionals. Patrick is a graduate from Columbia Southern University, where he obtained degrees in fire science and fire administration and a graduate certificate in public administration. He holds the Chief Fire Officer (CFO) designation from the Center for Public Safety Excellence and serves on the International Association of Fire Chiefs' Professional Development Committee.
