Description

Where is emotional intelligence most valued? There never has been a more important time in emergency services to be an emotionally intelligent instructor. The ability of instructors to understand just how much of a leader they are and to understand their own tendencies in situations not only helps the emergency scene but the classroom, training environment, station, and community. Delivering exceptional care and treatment to fellow emergency services workers and the first responder community starts with being self-aware and with recognizing the ability to develop a resonant instructional and leadership style that supports the mission, vision, and values of our organizations. This ensures that we, as emotionally intelligent instructors and leaders, are capable of providing the necessary instruction, protection, direction, and order necessary to be committed to excellence. In this session, you'll learn about the five domains associated with emotional intelligence, understand how to use these domains to better connect with members of your audience, and understand how to utilize the six behaviors of a highly emotionally intelligent instructor/leader.
