Stephen Marsar, MA, EFO, CIC, is a 38-year Emergency Services veteran. He recently retired as a Battalion Chief-FDNY, and is Former Chief & Commissioner of the Bellmore (NY) Volunteer Fire Department. He has served as FDNY Type 1 Incident Management Team Unit Leader, National Fire Instructor I & II, NY State EMS Regional Faculty, and Nassau Community College (NY) Adjunct Professor. Steve holds a Master’s Degree in Homeland Defense & Security from the Naval Post Graduate School and a Bachelor’s degree in Fire Science & Emergency Services Admin from SUNY Empire State College. He is an EFO & two-time winner of the FEMA/USFA National Outstanding Research Award. Steve is the Director of the Nassau County, NY, Critical Incident Stress Management Team and Owner/Operator of Redline Mobile Gear Cleaning, Inspection and Repair Services. Steve travels throughout the U.S. & abroad as a recognized and sought after speaker. He is also an Advisory Board member of Fire Engineering magazine and the FDIC.
