Major Dane Yaw, BS, FO II, EMS/Fire Instructor II, has dedicated over 30 years to public safety, beginning as a Police Paramedic before joining the Oklahoma City Fire Department in 1999. He was instrumental in developing the OK-TF1 Urban Search and Rescue K-9 program, serving as Medical Specialist, K-9 Search Specialist, Squad Boss, and Safety Officer. His technical expertise spans Rescue Diving, Swiftwater, Confined Space, Structural Collapse, Trench, and Rope Rescue, making him a trusted subject matter expert for Response International Group (R.I.G.) and Joint Defense Training (J.D.T.) military contractors. As an EMS/Fire Instructor II and Fire Training Center Coordinator, Major Yaw has trained hundreds of recruits and officers, blending operational experience with academic grounding through his B.S. in Fire Administration. This Meritorious Service Award recipient is a sought-after conference lecturer, he is recognized for delivering raw, practical lessons in leadership, risk management, and violent incident response. He currently serves as a District Ride-Out Officer in OKCFD's 606-A District.
