Jennifer Williams is the lead of stakeholder engagement for UL Research Institutes’ Fire Safety Research Institute. For the last eight years, she has amplified the team’s research to reach and engage key stakeholders to increase firefighter knowledge and reduce injuries and deaths in the fire service and the communities they serve. Jennifer is a member of the team’s Public Education Advisory Committee and has made major contributions to programs such as Close Before You Doze, Take CHARGE of Battery Safety, and revised home fire escape planning. She has worked with the fire service for nearly 20 years with 16 years active service as a firefighter/NREMT with the Lewes Volunteer Fire Department in Delaware and Burtonsville Volunteer Fire Department in Maryland. She has an associate's degree in fire science: arson investigation from Montgomery College and previously led public relations for the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute, University of Maryland.
