This workshop will provide attendees with multiple effective strategies and tactics that they can use to design, develop, and implement training within their organization that will meet the risks that they face within their community(ies). Attendees will be provided a comprehensive list of free to low costs training tools, programs, and resources that they can use to build their training program to meet the competency and job performance requirement needs of their jurisdiction(s). The tools and resources provided will allow attendees to cover topics from the Awareness to the Technician Level(s) on topics such as fire attack, technical rescue, hazardous materials, leadership, and fire department management. Other topics that will be covered include, but are not limited to: developing training collaboratives; designing a training plan; ensuring safety in training; State and Federal training resources; training SOPs/SOGs; conducting risk assessments to develop training; and seeking organizational buy-in.
